April

And just like that, the first quarter is over. It sure went by quickly! If you’ve read my last few posts, you'll notice a theme I’ve started leaning into seasons, cycles, and rhythms.

April brings that springtime energy that we all know and love. For me, that often means more activities before and after work, social get-togethers, reconnecting with friends, new opportunities, and lots of creative ideas!

This month, I’m focusing on maintaining my energy first and foremost. In the past, I’ve tended to go all-in on work and projects and neglect my health and well-being.

Recently, I started working with a career coach who has expanded my perspective and helped me reframe the importance of putting yourself and your well-being first. It's much easier said than done, but it’s a focus of mine this month.

In doing this exercise, I’ve outlined the actions I can take to replenish my energy. Here they are:

  • Morning walks with Scout

  • Meditations on Insight Timer

  • Journaling

  • Water before coffee is a must!

  • Movement from taking a yoga class to surfing exercise is key

  • Reading before bed instead of scrolling on my phone

  • Sunshine time, even if it’s for 5 minutes, it always boosts my mood

The impact of shifting these micro habits throughout my day makes a difference. Stress is reduced, my mood is improved, and there’s a calmness. This allows me to fully enjoy this magical time of the year and show up wholeheartedly.

I hope you’re enjoying this season and all it has to offer. After all, it's just getting started!
