5 Activities to do at Home for the Holidays
We’re celebrating the Holidays in new, unconventional ways this year and wanted to share some of the ways we are adapting old traditions and introducing new ones this Holiday season.
1. Plan Virtual Cookie Baking
Every year my mom and I have spent a full day in the kitchen baking together, it’s a tradition we’ve held onto for many years and one we were determined to continue from miles apart this year. Here’s how you can get started planning your own:
Choose a date and time then send our your virtual meeting link, we like to use Zoom.
Select your recipes, we recommend 2-3.
Create your shopping lists and gather all ingredients.
Prep beforehand, including the dough, that way you can enjoy with the process without loud kitchen appliances in the background.
“Join the Meeting” and begin your baking!
One of our favorite parts about our Holiday baking tradition is delivering the baked goods to our nearby friends and family.
2. Break out a Puzzle
If you’re anything like us, we’ve already tie-dyed, baked bread and have done your fair share of puzzles. We decided it’s time to upgrade our puzzle collection, with the hopes that puzzling will allow our minds to travel, explore and relax.
3. Feel-Good Movie Marathon
There’s nothing we love more than cozying up on our couch, in our jammies, with some popcorn and watching a Nancy Meyers film, preferable the Holiday this time of year.
4. Create a Bouquet
Having fresh flowers around our home brings life to our space and makes us feel happy. There’s nothing we love more than hand picking our favorite flowers and greenery from the local market then spending the afternoon arranging bouquets to place our home.
5. At-home Manicure
We spend a lot of time looking at our nails, add some holiday cheer by giving yourself a manicure and painting those tips a festive shade of red.
We hope these ideas bring you excitement and joy this Holiday Season!
